Drill to Earth's Core Academy Classes

How kits level, what team bonuses do, and which five guides to open first.

Players Hub

Classes live in the Academy building on the lobby island. You spend Cores there, not Coins. Coins buy in-run drill nodes and shop guns; Cores buy a kit that stays on the account after the drill explodes. Drill to Earth’s Core launched on 25 February 2026 as a 30-player online co-op descent, and Season 1 is the current frame. This hub is the roster map: how a class levels, why level 4 is always a team bonus, how the 2,500-Core passive reroll works, and featured guides — Miner, Lucky Looter, Driller, Pirate, Reaper, Executioner, and Bruiser. Prices for those kits are verified. Prices for Recruit, Racer, Witch, Salvager, Crafter, Nightcrawler, Gunsmith, and Priest are not, so they are not listed as numbers here.

Walk into the Academy, buy a kit, equip it, then start a descent. You take one class per run. You can own many. The class cost tool is the sheet; the class tier list is the S–D opinion for September 2026. If you are still on the tutorial pickaxe, buy Miner for 100 Cores and stop shopping until you understand fuel, sacks, and the upgrade menu.

How a class levels

Every kit has four numbered bonuses. Levels 1–3 are personal: more pickaxe damage, a lantern, a cannon, a discount on Drill Power. Each of those nodes has a requirement — mine X ore, kill Y enemies, smash Z walls, sell a Coin amount, wear a set. You do not pay extra Cores to level. You play the kit until the requirement pops, then the next node turns on. That is why a fresh Lucky Looter is already useful (multi-drop is level 1) and a fresh Pirate is already a gold farmer (bar drops are level 1), while Goblin King’s fun toys sit behind dungeon and goblin-lord counts.

Level 4 is always the team bonus. The wiki will not pretend otherwise. Miner shares pickaxe damage after 500,000 total depth. Scout and Healer share at 3,000,000. The 5,000-Core block (Tank, Gunslinger, Mechanic, Driller, Bruiser) shares at 5,000,000. Demolitionist and Reaper share at 10,000,000. The 30,000-Core block shares somewhere in the 20–30 million depth band. Until you have those totals, you are buffing yourself. After you have them, a lobby of mixed kits actually stacks. That is the point of a 30-player server.

The 2,500-Core passive reroll

Once you own more than one class, you can spend 2,500 Cores to roll a passive from a kit already on the account onto the kit you are wearing. The roll is random among the owned pool. It is not a way to steal Lucky Looter multi-drop without buying Lucky Looter — you must own the donor class. People chase Looter’s level 1 onto Reaper, or a drill node onto Pirate, and they reroll when they hit a dead skill. 2,500 Cores is not cheap. Finish your next real purchase (Driller at 5,000, Looter or Reaper at 10,000, Pirate at 30,000) before you gamble rerolls.

Game passes do not grant classes. Sack Storage is 79 Robux. Extra Health is 99 Robux. There is no promo-code box that gifts an Academy kit. If a video title says otherwise, it is the wrong game or a bait thumbnail.

Miner (100 Cores). The first buy. +50% pickaxe damage, a rusty pick, miner armor, and a team bonus at 500,000 total depth. Use it to fund Cores and to learn ore. Swap when 5,000 or 10,000 Cores land. Full first-hour plan: Miner class guide.

Lucky Looter (10,000 Cores). S-tier loot. Chests and ores multi-drop more often, cap 4. Bonus chest coins. Money Fog on the later nodes. Nerfed in the Gunsmith update and still the best Coin printer, especially in dungeons. Guide: Lucky Looter class guide.

Driller (5,000 Cores). S-tier walls. +50% Drill Power, cheaper Drill Power / Mega Drill / Power Slam, strong drill-focused kit. The default deep-run pick if you cannot afford Looter yet, and still the default if you can. Guide: Driller class guide.

Pirate (30,000 Cores). S-tier gold. Gold bar drops, +100% gold sell, flintlock, cannon at level 3. One cannon per run unless a church save stores it so you can stack. Guide: Pirate class guide.

Reaper (10,000 Cores). A-tier sustain. 20% chance for soul orbs that heal 25 HP, Soul Lantern, August combat buff. The fighter you take when the lobby keeps dying in goblin rooms. Guide: Reaper class guide.

Gunslinger, Tank, Mechanic, Goblin King, Bounty Hunter, Demolitionist, Scout, Healer, and Princess are real kits with verified prices on the class list. Use the class tier list for role notes and the cost tool for the number. Bruiser and Executioner now have dedicated pages. Do not invent a price for Witch or Gunsmith in chat and then argue with this hub — if it is not on the cost tool, it is unverified.

Equip one kit, run the descent, dump Coins into the drill, and come back to the Academy when the Core pile actually supports the next purchase. The five guides below are written as loadouts, not as lore.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Cores, classes, and the 100 KM wall.

Where do I buy and equip a class?

The Academy building in the lobby. Pay Cores, equip one kit, then start a descent. Coins cannot buy classes.

Is the team bonus always level 4?

Yes. Every class uses level 4 for the team node. Depth gates differ — 500,000 for Miner, up to 20–30 million for the 30,000-Core kits.

What does the 2,500-Core reroll actually copy?

A random passive from a class you already own onto the kit you are wearing. You cannot roll Lucky Looter multi-drop unless you own Lucky Looter.

Which class should I save Cores for after Miner?

Driller at 5,000 for wall damage, or Lucky Looter at 10,000 for loot. Reaper is the 10,000-Core combat fork. Pirate waits for 30,000.
