Drill to Earth's Core Lucky Looter After the Nerf
Multi-drops, chest coins, Money Fog, and why dungeons still love this kit.
Lucky Looter is the 10,000-Core Academy kit that still sits in S-tier on the September 2026 community list, and that sentence needs the nerf in the same breath. The Gunsmith update hit this class hard. Creators called it a huge nerf because it was. Multi-drop rates and chest value are not the screenshot they were in June. The kit remains S because chests and ores still drop extra copies more often (cap 4), chests still pay bonus Coins on the later nodes, and Money Fog still turns a hallway of corpses and ore into a private market. In a 30-player co-op descent, one or two Looters fund Drill Power for people wearing Driller and gold loops for people wearing Pirate. That is a lobby role, not a fashion helmet.
If you do not have 10,000 Cores, do not live on a wiki page you cannot buy. How to get Cores is the farm. Miner is the 100-Core bridge. Driller at 5,000 is the depth bridge. Lucky Looter is the income destination.
What you are buying
Level 1 is the reason the class exists: chests and ores multi-drop more often, maximum four extra piles. It is on when you equip the kit. You do not wait for a 250-chest requirement to start printing. Later personal nodes add bonus Coins from chests and, at the top of the personal ladder, Money Fog chance. Money Fog is the loot weather that makes sold enemies and ore pay more while it lasts. The team node is level 4, like every class; treat Fog chance as the thing you eventually share, and treat multi-drop as the thing you bring tonight.
Starter gear is Lucky Looter armor pieces — helmet, chest, legs — not a unique gun. You still buy Steel Speed Boots, a Rifle, and Bandages like a normal person. The class does not replace the dungeon guide. It multiplies what those rooms drop. If you skip dungeons on a Looter, you bought a 10,000-Core mining hat. Do not do that.
Dungeon synergy
Dungeons are why Looter stayed S after Gunsmith. A mineshaft ore node that rolls a multi-drop is nice. A boss chest that rolls a multi-drop plus bonus chest Coins is a run-changing sack. Vampire rooms, goblin rings, and the early tutorial dungeon all feed the same loop: enter, clear, open everything, leave with a sack that a Tank would have left half full. You still have to win the room. Looter is not a damage aura. Pair with Reaper in the lobby if you want orbs and a lantern while you loot. Pair with Driller if you want the vehicle to keep moving while you are inside a side room.
Play greedy on purpose. Sack Storage (the Common upgrade and the 79 Robux pass) matters more on this kit than on Gunslinger. A full sack that forces you to leave a chest is the class failing at its job. Sell at trading posts, dump scrap into crafting only after the drill has its Drill Power, and get back into the next door. Town turrets will clean the pack that followed you out. You do not need Dynamite for that.
Money Fog is a bonus, not a plan. When it procs, sell like a maniac. When it does not, you still have multi-drop. People who reroll 2,500-Core passives chasing Fog on a kit that is not Looter should own Looter first. The reroll copies from classes you already bought; it is not a discount coupon for skipping the 10,000-Core price.
Gunsmith nerf, still S
Before Gunsmith, Lucky Looter was the lazy answer to every question, including questions about wall damage. That was wrong then and it is wrong now. Looter does not discount Drill Power. Looter does not place a cannon. Looter prints Coins so that someone — preferably a Driller in the same 30-player server — can click the nodes that actually break rock. After the nerf, the Coin printer is smaller and still larger than Princess diamond tricks, Mechanic scrap bonuses, or Miner’s sell node. Community opinion in September 2026 keeps it in S with Driller and Pirate. If a future Season 1 patch cuts multi-drop again, this page will move. Until then, buy it for loot.
Do not wear Looter into a core-boss attempt and then refuse to shoot. You still need a gun. You still need Bandages. You still need the vehicle. The class is a multiplier on chests, not a shield. If your account is choosing between this kit and Driller, and your group already has a Looter, buy Driller. If your group has two Drillers and no loot engine, buy this.
The players hub is the roster map. Open Driller when you want walls, Pirate when you have 30,000 Cores and a gold problem, Miner when you are still earning the 10,000. Lucky Looter is the sack class. Fill the sack.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Cores, classes, and the 100 KM wall.
Is Lucky Looter still worth 10,000 Cores after Gunsmith?
Yes, as a loot engine. The nerf was real, but multi-drops, chest coins, and Money Fog still print more upgrade money than combat kits.
Do I need to run dungeons on Lucky Looter?
Yes. Multi-drop on boss chests is the class. Skipping dungeons wastes the 10,000-Core price on slightly better ore nodes.
Should I buy Lucky Looter before Driller?
Buy Driller first if the lobby already has a Looter or if you keep stalling on walls. Buy Looter first if income is the bottleneck and you have the 10,000 Cores.
Can I reroll Lucky Looter multi-drop onto another class?
Only if you already own Lucky Looter. The 2,500-Core reroll copies a passive from an owned kit; it does not skip the Academy price.
